After putting up with the GCSE's and associated crap (e.g.. 2 years of school after the SAT's) I'm fed up of school. I have no idea how I've taken another year of the bullshit, but I've had just about enough. This is worse than the GCSE's though, because its supposed to be voluntary school (which I don't buy, since I couldn't even get a factory job at age 16) and since you are only supposed to take 4 AS levels, you are meant to pick ones you have an interest in.

Yet when I'm sat in a sociology class after months of lessons and someone is stupid enough to say they don't understand what Marxism is I despair. Maybe its just me though. The worst thing is I am almost guaranteed to do worse than this dumbass in the exam I took today. This is because of the exams expecting us to jump through hoops to fill their criteria. I'm not a circus monkey, I don't perform tricks for other peoples entertainment. I refuse to answer a question that basically asks me to rewrite the source it is based on, we have photocopiers to reproduce text for fucks sake!

I flat out refuse to work like a dog writing non-stop for 2 hours and 30 minutes. 1) Because my hand hurts after about 1 hour 15 minutes of sustained writing and 2) To prove a point, I could write through my hand hurting - but why the hell should I? If a boss asked told me to type a report in a limited amount of time and I got repetitive strain because of it I could sue his sorry ass and retire on the money. Yes it would be a he too, women aren't in senior positions, we all know that.

And talk about a crappy working environment, I hate the exam room. The crappy lights give everything a hue, its like everything has been covered in grease and put under a sun lamp. Everything, the people around me, my test paper, my hands. EVERYTHING. It makes me sick.

Oh, and sitting down to an exam to find they haven't given me the right paper is a fucking joke, they would be pissed off if I actually answered the wrong paper wouldn't they? I would be the one penalised for their mistake though.

Also, none of the questions require an interest in sociology, let alone an understanding of it, providing you have revised to a point you can reproduce your notes you can easily get an A. That is bullshit, there should be an AS level in copying up notes, at least then it gets rid of the pretence. In fact, don't even interpret that as sarcasm - if that was an involuntary one and was hyped up as something important, it would help to distinguish between those who can replicate without thinking, and those who actually assimilate the information and can rewrite it in their own way.

Since sociology is the test I had today, I'll address more problems I have with it:

1) We don't actually read any research done, or carry any out ourselves [at least in AS]. I have thought of some ace studies to be carried out too [which I won't go into, in case I actually one day get to carry them out, I would be upset if people figured it out].

2) We are supposed to learn the names of sociologists and their studies - that isn't sociology. Sociology is the study of people in groups, that would be the study of the study of people in groups, or sociologyology. I don't recall signing up for sociologyology.

3) My class is full of retards, if somebody doesn't know what 'fiction' is by the age of 17 they deserve to die. I'm not exaggerating either, I wish someone would burst into the room with a crossbow, and take us all out 1 at a time and ask us what fiction means, you get it wrong and you get a crossbow bolt put through your head. Easily done.
