I don't agree with the notion of hardcore gamer either tbh. I spend alot of time gaming, but nowhere near the time as most, and my interests are pretty much solely FPS.

It would be arrogant of me to think that a strategy player is less hardcore than me, since they likely play more, and are better at their game(s) than I am at mine.

People don't appreciate how ignorant they are. Like if I was to say how much tv I watch alot of people would be shocked, because the tv shows they see are nothing compared to the stuff I watch. I mean, The Wire for instance, watching The Wire is not like watching any other show, so saying that you watch tv doesn't really give the right idea.

lately, if I'm not working then I'm with my housemates in the pub or going out.. or, less often, the other way around. I don't like drinking this much and I don't like spending this much.. but it sometimes it's the only way I can see to have socialise a bit more and have a bit of fun.

it is better than when I go back to louth in holidays and turn to playing games pretty much all day. literally the only other thing I did this summer, for the part of it that I spent in louth, was when I go out to do some exercise by myself. that's partly because the quality of the games I played really wasn't good. some ps2 games I played were okay but I can't seem to stay away from free online rpgs =.= If I played good games it would be kind of good, but then the main problem would be that I don't have any good friends near louth.

I feel depressed because of some things.. I often did but I used to love having an engrossing game or a really interesting tv series to watch. now though, I don't have any good games or tv series on the go.. I'd like to have something I can do that I can be engrossed in for decent periods of time and not think about anything else. instead, when I watch tv in the house, I can never find anything good enough to hold my attention.. I sit there looking at the screen but I'm not thinking about what's on. I havent had many chances to get into sport, so I don't have that right now.

one of my housemates is in his.. 4th year here, but he's retaking only the practicals that he skipped in 2nd year.. and doing nothing else. he has no money and sits in front of the tv all day, except for when he goes out to play rugby. he moans about stuff and doesn't seem to have looked for anytihing good to do with his time.

I think that I understand the difference between playing shit games and sitting in front of the tv like a vegetable.. and finding games and shows that you can really enjoy.

two of my housemates seem pretty into the idea of setting up a network at home and playing each other at football manager when the new one is released. it sounds ok to me but they're much more into that game than I am, I've been kind of addicted for a bit last year but they've played it avidly.
